When we first met you mate there was something different about you, people avoided you but our heart went out to you. We saw that you needed a friend and we decided to be that friend, many times we would see you riding your Yamaha XS 750 and sidecar around and you rode it well, you taught me how to ride it well too. As the years rolled by you became a part of our family, countless times you looked after our children for us while we got away on our bike, and people commented they were worried about you looking after our children due to your mental health problems. We didn't even notice your problems as all we saw was the size of your heart, your love, concern, care and protection of our children Raymond and Levi.

Ray and Levi eventually idolized you in their own little way, you watched Ray grow into a young man after changing his nappies as a baby, unfortunately you only got to see Levi grow into a young boy. You were as "Proud as Punch" as if they were your own kids, always asking how the little men were doing every time you rang if you had not seen us for a few weeks. Your life was stolen from us all before your Dad's very own eyes of a massive heart attack on the property that you were both looking forward to building on. Your dream was for a wife and children of your own but sadly that never eventuated, one dream that did happen was that your relationship with your Dad became very close over the past few years, I suppose maybe the fact that you looked after our children may have helped you get a closer relationship with your Dad, I don't know I never will but I would like to think it was that.

Your Eye sight deteriorated a few years ago and your concern for the welfare of other road users became an issue whereas you handed in your licence and sold your bike and sidecar to me, you were waiting for me to put the sidecar on my XJ 900 and the first ride was going to be yours, it still will be mate! I will travel those roads you so much loved with you on my mind and in my heart. Your life may have been stolen at a young age of 38 but you loved God and knew Jesus in a very special way, I know that I will see your smiling face again some day..... Until then my friend ..... Ride Free!
