About Ian...

Hello and welcome to the bikers for Christ internet site I trust you have read some very interesting life stories of the people here before me. I know some of the other testimonies are really worth reading as I have already explored some of them. Whilst reading some of the other testimonies and pondering my story it seemed to be that in comparison my story might be a little dull, but some one reminded me that we are all individuals and loved by God just as much as each other regardless of our history.

Genesis

Genesis is the first book of the bible and therefore the beginning, my beginning started in Brisbane in 1962. Shortly after my parents moved to a house we would live in for some time, 24 years to be exact, however the house was an ongoing project as money and the need arose which meant it was never finished, up to and including the day we sold it. My father worked as a truck driver and mum as a nurse at a nursing home, both attended church services at the locale Baptist church were we also attended Sunday school.
During my later years of primary school and at a youth for Christ camp at wappa falls I gave my life to Christ. However this did not make things any the easier for me, I was not a high achiever at school and entering high school made things worse. Having been held back at primary school meant I was also older than every one in my grade, when a job was offered I left school and started in the work force.
After selling the family home we moved into a house not far from sunny bank, which also meant another church for my parents I attended on and off but mostly off. Once again having sold the house they moved away to a town they found during their travels approximately a 3 hour drive west, out near kingaroy. Obviously I was not going with them which meant finding somewhere to live. My uncle provided a room for me in Hawthorne, after sometime I sought friends through a local youth group at the Baptist church.

However I found more than I went looking for, the pastor was quicker than I was to the exit introduced himself and asked for what I was seeking. After my answering his question, he explained about the youth group being very small to not existing. He asked me to lunch but having prior commitment I had to decline.

Matthew

Mathew is the first book of the second testament and therefore a new beginning. Meeting the pastor at this time was for me my second testament and a knew beginning. I found the people of this congregation to be full of love and generosity. Although I was a Christian at this time and already baptized I believe it was here I felt the lords touch, as I grew and walked with Christ as never before.
Regrettably the pastor and his family would soon depart for the US and his next posting. Prior to the farewell service his daughter had been playing cupid between me and a friend of hers from another church and arranged for us to meet at this service. However another young lady whom I had met through work, was also with them surprise - surprise. This was to me and all others a little shock, Kerrie for whom it was planned to meet me for the first time was a little put out by this chance.
We were however introduced, but that was about it for the evening, approximately two weeks later she was on my mind. I rang the youth coordinator at her church seeking info on events for the week, Friday knight was a farewell for a friend the next Friday was a movie knight. This to me was a better approach for informal contact. After the movie and at supper I allowed Kerrie to approach me if she wanted to and she did. We talked for the balance of the evening; the next day was to be a bush walk at binna burra lodge.
I had to meet with them at the church by 9-30 am, whilst organizing my lunch for the trip, I asked the lord if this was to be the girl for me I would simply need her ph no. We met up at the beginning of the walk; we walked and talked together all day as if we were meant to be together. After lunch just before departure I asked if anything was happing that evening, Kerrie asked a friend and returned saying they were going to a movie but as yet she had not been asked so I did. She agreed, needing to make arrangements as where to and what to see I needed to contact her later.

A Revelation

Now as you may recall I asked the lord for that ph no. Well I "got it!" however I had to be able to keep it "think for a minute we are in the bush" How do you keep it? But with pen and paper I had in my pocket to do just that. Now to cut a long story short we married on Sept-28-1991 and now have two children. The youngest TJ was recently confirmed as ASD or Asperger's syndrome, after Kerrie had problems with his behaviour. This is also why I did not do well at school, as the genetics is mostly passed form father to son. Currently we the family, have been attending church at Logan city's best AOG church were we love life and live for god.

Now revelation is the last book of the bible and the end of gods letters to us my prayers go with you and I hope to see you some day in this life or the next. But for now I must sign off and hope you have found my story worthy of your time and effort

GOD BLESS
AND MAY HE KEEP YOU
