"In my early years": by David...
I first went to a bike club meeting at the age of 16 which was "The Devils First Rank" and I thought this was what I was looking for in life. I knocked around with the "Warlords" and the "Bohemian Mongrels" for some time partying with them and they also used our house as a party house. By the time I was 19 I knew I was going to either end up dead or in jail from this lifestyle, so I moved to perth to get away from it all. Unfortunately I met the same sort of people in Perth and partied again. You can't escape your problems you will find you usually take them with you, it is better to deal with them. While I was in perth I also got involved in new age religions which made me feel even more lost and lonely than before. I met some 'Born again" Christians while traveling around for 5 years but I never thought I could ever be good enough to be a Christian! I returned to Brisbane and met some more Christians at a small house church in Inala who had came from the same sort of lifestyle and background as what I did. The asked me to give my life to Jesus, I told them that I would ask Jesus into my life but on the condition that he changed me otherwise he could get stuffed.
Around 1986 I had given a motorcycle away to a friend while fellowshipping at the Tabernacle church in the valley, I was given a word from a fellow that I was to start a Christian Motorcycle Ministry, at the time I wanted to be a missionary in India with Stuart Gremenz and wanted nothing to do with motorcycles. I was given cash to buy a motorcycle and went out and got a XS 650 yamaha the best bike you will ever find. I approached other Christian riders to seek God on whether to go ahead with the idea or not. Eventually, I met Roscoe and he became involved as well, we started with about 6 members and the group grew quickly gaining popularity with bikers who parked in Albert st in the city, we had monthly rides where people would come from Albert St on the ride and at times we would have up to 30 bikes on a ride. We attended most rallies and had some great times.
The end result of walking for Jesus and walking the way he wants you to go is glory bound, Unfortunately we also have to be a partaker of his sufferings and cop the crap dished out to us by the devil, but I have read the end of the book - We win!
