"In my early years": by David...

David in his early days as a Christian
In my early years I was brought up in a verbally and physically abusive household, which made me very anti-social from my childhood and angry. I had two older brothers who rode motorcycles with one of them being in a Bike club the "Pilgrims" and at another stage he was also nominated for the "Warlords". My first bike was 1930 Triumph 350 single and I was the king of the school, due to the fact that we also knew the outlaw club guys we were made even more anti-social, not by any of our doing.

I first went to a bike club meeting at the age of 16 which was "The Devils First Rank" and I thought this was what I was looking for in life. I knocked around with the "Warlords" and the "Bohemian Mongrels" for some time partying with them and they also used our house as a party house. By the time I was 19 I knew I was going to either end up dead or in jail from this lifestyle, so I moved to perth to get away from it all. Unfortunately I met the same sort of people in Perth and partied again. You can't escape your problems you will find you usually take them with you, it is better to deal with them.

While I was in perth I also got involved in new age religions which made me feel even more lost and lonely than before. I met some 'Born again" Christians while traveling around for 5 years but I never thought I could ever be good enough to be a Christian! I returned to Brisbane and met some more Christians at a small house church in Inala who had came from the same sort of lifestyle and background as what I did. The asked me to give my life to Jesus, I told them that I would ask Jesus into my life but on the condition that he changed me otherwise he could get stuffed.

After I gave my life to Jesus, I had no doubt at all that he was the Lord and Saviour of this world and he changed things in my life that I could never have changed. It hasn't been an easy life but it is a life that offers a life of peace and security of the end result of getting into heaven. Something that the world could not offer. As a young believer I worked in half way houses helping anyone and everyone regardless of age, race, background or nationality or their problems, which as a young Christian I found very rewarding.

Around 1986 I had given a motorcycle away to a friend while fellowshipping at the Tabernacle church in the valley, I was given a word from a fellow that I was to start a Christian Motorcycle Ministry, at the time I wanted to be a missionary in India with Stuart Gremenz and wanted nothing to do with motorcycles. I was given cash to buy a motorcycle and went out and got a XS 650 yamaha the best bike you will ever find. I approached other Christian riders to seek God on whether to go ahead with the idea or not. Eventually, I met Roscoe and he became involved as well, we started with about 6 members and the group grew quickly gaining popularity with bikers who parked in Albert st in the city, we had monthly rides where people would come from Albert St on the ride and at times we would have up to 30 bikes on a ride. We attended most rallies and had some great times.

The Boarder Ranges rally in the middle of winter, freezing cold!

One of the many rallies we went to.

Eventually I had marriage problems and resigned from Bikers for Christ, and tried concentrate on my walk with God, many had approached me from other Christian clubs and placed pressure on me to step down, they also tried at times to take over whatever we were doing but God had called me to start it and Roscoe eventually carried it on for a few years. Over the years I kept in contact with him and have now come back to being a part of Bikers 4 Christ but with much persecution, but I am used to that! Jezebel has a target painted on my life and usually uses women to attack me, mostly verbally and emotionally, I figure this is mainly because I know I have a prophetic calling on my life and have an understanding of things basically in spiritual realms. But this is just a part of walking on for God, all Christians are a target from day one, just that many don't know it and don't step out in the things of God to worry the devil enough to be bothered with them.

The end result of walking for Jesus and walking the way he wants you to go is glory bound, Unfortunately we also have to be a partaker of his sufferings and cop the crap dished out to us by the devil, but I have read the end of the book - We win!
