Recently I have had two visits from our New Caledonian friends, firstly we had Maurice and Erika here for a week or two then they went home and a couple of days later Richard turned up again and stayed with us for 12 days or so as well as tripping around the country side. Again it was a great time for me and a time for learning, although I still have not got over their first visit and stay with me in 2006 and have yet to learn heaps from that visit too. Maurice and Erika were a different couple from what we have seen of the New Caledonians, Maurice shared with me how he has been in full time ministry for three years, his wife works but he is full time, he has seen 28 states of USA and I think he said 9 countries in 3 years. He also shared how in all those visits he had to just trust God that the finances would be there, he would meet those he was intended to meet, some times he would wait days just to see someone and fulfil his mission given to him from his president Glen. The way they go about their mission is very “to the point” and anything is to be done to accomplish it. They simply trust God! How do they “Trust God”? Simple they ask, they pray and the seek. Every morning they give God the new day, they let God know what their plans are but if God has something different in mind he is free to change it for them, one instant that really blew me away was Richard wanted to buy a sword at the end of his trip, now where do you get a sword from, well we travelled from North Coast to Gold Coast looking and nothing! I rang a few numbers was told of a gun shop in Carina, went and looked, no sword shop though, I scratched my head and tried to figure out what the man had said when I looked left and there was a “Sword shop” across the road. We went we purchased and we left........ I started to laugh, and told Richard how that shop was probably the ONLY one in Brisbane and we found it, I have not been to that suburb for over 10 years. Richard said why you laugh, God is able to do anything. He told me how he had prayed that morning telling the Lord how he wanted to buy a Sword and could he help us find it. How simple is that! He told me of many instances like that, how they just ask God, it only takes 3 seconds to do so........ and God comes through every time. Wow! Every time those people come here I learn something very significant about the character of God, how many times have you or I got frustrated, angry, disappointed or whatever because we could not accomplish something? But if we had of started the morning off with “Hey God, this is what I am up to today, I don’t know what your plans are for me today Lord but I am open to do what you would have me do, and I ask that you help me to accomplish the things that I have to do father”. Now would that be too hard? Maurice wanted to go to Tasmania, we looked at trains planes buses and cars........ the best we got was $350 or so for a hire car to Melbourne, rang round some more, then Maurice stopped and prayed, 5 minutes later he told me to ring back the first car hire people, we now had a new quote of $178 we got the quote number and hired the car, I started to laugh and said to Maurice “that is strange”! Maurice replied and said “no, that is God!” How simple was it to receive almost 200 bucks off the price and it only took maurice maybe 3 minutes of praying and asking God for help and trusting him that he would help. Have a read of Psalm 73v28; Prov 28v25; Iasiaih 26v4; Phillipians 2v19. See how God can and will work through you and I, but we have to put our trust in him, not for selfish reasons either but for his good and his will and his glory, not ours! While Richard was here, we clocked up over 3000 Klm in our car because he could not get a hire car at Christmas time they were all booked out, the day before we left for Mackay our car decided to spit an oil seal somewhere and leaked badly, We used 5 Ltrs of oil going to Mackay before I asked God what to do and he showed me a bottle of stop leak for the engine oil, so I put it in, we only used just over a litre on the way back. I also asked God to get us there and back safely as well so the car lasted and kept going although I think the motor is a bit tired and needs replacing. On the way down from mackay we got some pretty serious rain, I was following a 4WD thinking stay behind him and I will stay on the road. I could see a large semi coming behind me pretty quick, as he passed me he hit and ocean load of water and sent a sunami onto my windscreen, I could not see a thing literally! All I thought was hold the wheel and keep it straight, it seemed like about 20 secs at 110 Klm/Hr we were blind, eventually the water cleared and I looked to see we were still on the road in a straight line! Thank you Jesus!! Trusting God is easy! It is as simple as spending 5 minutes or what ever you feel like with him first thing in the morning, it really doesn’t take much at all, Richard shared with us Genesis 1v1; and pushed the fact that the Bible says “In the beginning God...............” every morning must start in the beginning with God. Then the rest of our day will go well. We were told by Richard it is not easy to live a dedicated life to the Lord, but when we get used to it the blessing out weighs the hard times by far. I think it is the first time I have heard someone say what I have always believed, Richard said to us at a BBQ with a couple of Bikers 4 Christ “How much of your life did you give to the Lord? Was it all, or was it just a little, how much of your time, your money, your thoughts, your will, your life did you give to the Lord? Was it 10% of your money, 50 % of your time, no, either you gave your life to the Lord or you didn’t, if you did then all is his!” Galatians 2v20 gives me a new perspective on my life, also John 15v5 is good for me too, how much of Jesus really lives in me, how much do I trust him with my every day decisions, life and will? How much of “MY” life have I really given to Jesus? I went down to the Gold Coast on New Years eve and a biker looking bloke was talking to me and asked me what made me become a minister or chaplain, I looked at him and at the time really had no answer for him, not that it would have mattered anyway as he was pretty well under the weather and I doubt he will remember new years eve. But it did also make me question myself, why did I? When the biker asked me I felt like telling him about how I trusted God to raise my mum off her death bed, he did and so I gave him my life, but that would have been a bit too long at the time to share with him, so I think about that now. I didn’t know if God was real, I didn’t know if he heard prayer or even responded, I had no idea but still at the age of 15 I trusted God was real and he would hear me and heal my mum, in return he could have my life. I was so naive I thought I would drop dead! My mum got healed, Jesus came into my life and has been leading me and directing me ever since, I have stuffed up along the way, I have made bad choices, decisions and said and done things wrong, but ultimately I think of that vow I made often, “Jesus save my mum and you can have my life”. I didn’t say he could have my life only for 5 years, or for part of the day, I have a lot of learning to do, a lot more trusting of God to do too, but this year will be different again, just like 2006 I learnt something from my friends and have put it into effect and it works, I have learned something new again from my friends so I will again put it into effect to the best of my ability and I am going to “Trust God” on all my daily things, plans, travels, decisions and see what he does in my life, I expect a life of blessing, to see God move in my life and through my life, do you want it too? x‚є+іHRі&ї&эхкаЩаЩаЩаЩаЩТ hР6Ah]zs hР6AhР6AhР6AhР6A5\hР6AhР6AB*phhР6AB*ph#hР6AhР6A5>*B*CJaJph M п -|фй> u"ї&ѓччччччччччтgdР6A $7$8$H$a$gdР6A $7$8$H$a$gdР6A ї&ў21h:pР6AА‚.
