We’re basically lazy, that’s why. We know all the blessing s of God are for us; we know that if it’s in the Word, we can take it to the bank; but is has to be really bad before the penny drops, and we say, ’Wait a minute, where’s that abundant life Jesus said He came to give us? We put up with all kinds of garbage, until the devil (and he can be relied on for this) pushes us one step too far, and we finally wake up. For the last few years, I’ve been suffering with IBS. I was putting up with it, coping with it, hiding in it, I suspect. Then finally it got so bad I couldn’t stand it any more. Last August, I got all the verses on healing I could think of together, printed them out onto several pages, and three times a day, meditated on them, and took the fight into the enemy camp. You know, even the greatest of the great ones have fights with sickness and all the other garbage the enemy throws at us. Kenneth Hagan never went a day without meditating on faith and healing. Smith Wigglesworth never spent more than half an hour out of the Word. Kenneth Copeland has had a share of sickness, as has Andrew Womack, who I have been tuning into quite a lot. The only difference with them is that they don’t lie down and take it. Kenneth Hagan never prayed for healing immediately, but always meditated the Word. Sometimes for a few days. When he know he ‘had it’ – that Rhema, then he prayed and got it. It didn’t ever come easily to any of the others either. Jesus said the way into the Kingdom is constricted; it has to be taken by force. In one parable He said that initially anyway, only one in 4 get it. You have to really see it, before you get it as an actual reality. When I first started my campaign, the spirit of my mind, which has ruled over me for many years, really put up a fight. I just mowed it down told it mind its own business, and kept right in at it. Finally I actually saw Jesus touching the leper, healing people. I just saw Him doing it. Then I realised He doesn’t do that any more, because before He went up to heaven, He gave us all we needed to do it ourselves, is we have a new born again spirit. Everything he was and has is already in us. The only thing we really need to do to make it real, is to believe, and let the Word do the work for us. The life of faith is not for wimps, or lazy people. You have to really want something before you get it. If you want it badly enough, you’ll go for it. It takes a lot of persistence. Kenneth Hagin used to say ‘the blessings of God don’t just fall on you like ripe cherries off tree. You have to work on it. For a while you’ll just think you aren’t getting anywhere, and you have to get past your mind. That’s the hardest. What about my IBS? Well, I started to see myself healed. My mind kept getting in the way, so in the end my body got fed up and started to reject the medication. I’m not completely healed yet, but I’m quite a long way along the way. The Holy Spirit keeps telling me that all my life I’ve done things to make this happen and if I get healed too quickly, I’ll keep on doing those things. He isn’t going to heal me just so I can turn around and do it all over again. So, as long as you know that the Word promises you what you want, the only way you can fail to receive is if you give up.  Even then we have a safety net, which I’ve used many times.  2 Timothy 2.13 Amp.  I’ve never heard that verse quote anywhere, but let me tell you, it works.  Look it up.  It’s worth the effort. Well, if I don’t see you before, I’ll meet you at the river, and you can tell me then how you got on. Luv ya all.
