At the end of the beatitudes in Matthew chapter 7 Jesus talk about relationship with others, judging, good and evil, how some will enter the kigdom and others won’t. When I first got saved at that little full gospel church one big thing they taught me was your relationship with people reflects your relationship with God. I rememebr asking them to expalin it better as I was unedumacted and got them to give an example, at the time there was a bit of argument of demon possesion, how some preachers said there is a demon behind every rock and others said they were just on a witch hunt, the pastor said to me, “everytime someone makes a statement to you and you get that gut feeling something is wrong, look over his shoulder and see if there is a devil there”! In other words, look at the persons motives! Thier life in general, do they truly care for people like Jesus says we should or are they only out for something for themselves, are they “in it for themself” or are they truly trying to make a positive effect on a persons life? I have always looked at that ever since, and even moreso in my own life, I ask myself, “what is in it for me” and if I am to gain in a big way and know it, I doubt it is God. I was helping someone once may years ago, and they wanted to give me a large sum of money, I refused to take it because I did not know them very well and did not know if there was a motive behind their doing and I really didn’t deserve it either, I believe if it had of been God they would have just mailed it to me anonymously. Same thing with my own mother, I helped her for years where my brothers didn’t, I helped her financially and physically and in any way I could, on her death bed she wanted to leave the house in my name only, I managed to talk around it so she didn’t change her will as I had to live with my brothers long after she was gone, I wanted to help because Jesus loved her and I needed to show her that, no other reason, and it worked, she gave her life to the Lord just before she died. So am I saying we are not to prosper in God? No way, I ride a nice yamaha, have a nice car, a nice home, nice clothes, a great life in general and I live well, I have nice things, but they are not neccessary and it would not bother me in the least if I didn’t have them. For instance, my previous bike, I could have sold that for about 4 grand, or like I had planned I could have kept it and let anyone ride who may have been without a bike, instead God said give it to someone, so I did, did it bother me? Not in the least, actually it brought quite a bit of joy to me and also the recipient and God got the honour out of it, it was just a bike to me nothing more. I certainly was not to gain anything from doing that........sorry yes I was, I saw the look on the blokes face and it was worth a million dollars, so I suppose I did gain out of it in a big way. In that chapter of Matthew again, Jesus says do unto others as you would have them do unto you, in other words if you want to be treated nicely, treat others nicely, that is pretty simple! But then he goes on to say, ask and you shall recieve, knock and the door shall be opened, I know a few people who ask and knock and kick and scream and they get nowhere, why? Because they didn’t do the former stuff, they didn’t treat others well, they judged them, criticized and so on........... it is easy to do, I have! I have found lately if I keep my mouth shut I can’t put my foot in it! Deep hey!! For years I have tried to get people to place their focus on Jesus and not man, why? Jesus won’t let us down, man will, for instance, look at where you fellowship and those you asscoaite with, look at their fruits of their life, are they angry, bitter, backstabbing, gossipers, slanderers, lovers of things or self? Now look at your own life and ask yourself are any of these things in my life, if so, maybe someone has rubbed off on you and you need to seperate yourself, or maybe hang out with Jesus a bit more!! Over the last few months I have been pretty quiet toward a few people, some have asked why, well, basically if someone is talking a whole heap of crap or dribble, I am really not interested much, I would rather watch TV or go for a ride, I think sometimes we have to stop and listen to ourselves, what are we talking about, usually we will find we are talking about others. I know some people who will give you a running commentary on political stuff and how the country should be run, others can tell you how all current events are wrong and people are cruel or whatever, so what! I know that!! Usually I find people who want to give a running commentary on say the daily news or current affairs really got no idea what they are talking about and it is only “their opinion”. Then some may go a little further and say how ungodly the world is (no kidding) and people need Christ, I know some who will just rave on for hours if you let them and basically say nothing new! I know some preachers like that, they got nothing new to say from God, it is always the same over the last 20 years, give me your money and God will bless you! God speaks to me on a Weekly basis, not a weakly basis, He shows me things every second day if not every day and corrects me in my thinking quite a lot. The preaching you are listening to, does it point you to Jesus or does it point you to materialism? Does it point you to how you can lay hands on the sick, preach the gospel, or help your neighbour or does it point you to how to get stuff for yourself? I have said it many times, but one of the very first things the Holy Spirit showed me in the Bible was Matthew 6v33 where Jesus will look after us. We don’t need to go running after things, we need to be running after Jesus and helping the hurting find their way back to Him, then Jesus will take care of our needs. I know some preachers who live in multi million dollar mansions, I know some who live in some very well to do places also, and they live the highlife in all aspects, yet, they have not done a single days work in their lives! God blesses me they say, but they also harp on about giving money to them too, what is the fruit of their life, are you paying for thier luxury living and going without yourself? I worked hard in a church for over 6 years and only ever recieved a wage for maybe 6 mths out of it all, I had to go to work and support my family, did God bless me, he has now, I have a nice bike, but I don’t live an overlavish lifestyle, I prefer to help people with what I have. Don’t be sucked in by wolves in sheep clothing, check what the preaching that you are listening to is actually showing you how to live a victorious life, not a materialistic one. <MПУ(4^"эхкаЩХЩаЩhЃЇ hЃЇhЃЇhЃЇhЃЇ5\hЃЇhЃЇB*phhЃЇB*ph#hЃЇhЃЇ5>*B*CJaJph ŸЖ0ПРСТУ^"ѓчччччччтттттgdЃЇ $7$8$H$a$gdЃЇ $7$8$H$a$gdЃЇ ^"ў21h:pЃЇА‚.
