Who was Jesus Really?

Not many people really stop and truly think about who Jesus was! Many have preconceived ideas of him being a super human, or prophet, or just a fable or myth. The truth is he was a man! Just like you and me with flesh and blood, if you had of smacked him in the mouth he would have started to bleed, he had friends, feelings, pain and suffering just like the rest of us. Yet, he was the only son of God! There are many pictures of what he was supposed to look like, materials found that were apparently the shroud he was wrapped in, many different religions that believe many different things say that they followed him and still they are around today, but the question still stands in many people's lives, "Who is Jesus".

I doubt the above picture looks anything like Jesus, but then again who knows? Many have claimed to have been to heaven and seen Jesus, but what I can not figure out, is why do they share what they have been told or seen for a price? Buy this tape, or book, come and see this man or that woman, they have been to heaven! Jesus said in John chapter 20 verse 29 Blessed are those who have not seen me and still believe.

I have heard many say and preach that "the gospel is free but not to them that preach it". The only reason this is said is mostly because they are about to take up an offering. Jesus said go out into the highway and byways and preach the gospel to the poor, many people don't go to church because they believe"all they want is your money", how sad, not only for the people but the church as well, because the church will be held accountable for that too. Many say "you don't need to go to church to be a Christian" that is the same as saying the doctor does not have to go to his office to be a doctor, or a politician does not have to go to parliament to be a politician. Stupid huh? The reason there are so many different churches, beliefs, religions, practices, and ways of worshipping Jesus, is the same reason there are Holdens, Fords, Mitsubishi, BMW, Rolls Royce, Harley Davidson, Yamaha, Honda Kawasaki and so on, - everyone to their own, we all have our preferences.

Who do you say Jesus is? Right now you are probably thinking I have not even answered that question myself? Your right! That is because it does not matter who I say he is or who the church says he is, what matters is what Jesus said about himself, then we can sort the rest out later.

Jesus said:

"I am the way the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father except through me" John 14:6

"Unless a man is born again he can not see the kingdom of God" John 3:3

"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me". John 10:27

"The thief has come to steal, kill and destroy, but I have come to give you life more abundantly" John 10:10

"He who loves his life shall lose it. And he who hates his life in this world shall keep it to life eternal". John 12:25

"Jesus spoke these words and lifted up His eyes to Heaven and said, Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son so that Your Son also may glorify You, even as You have given Him authority over all flesh so that He should give eternal life to all You have given Him. And this is life eternal, that they might know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. I have glorified You upon the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do. And now Father, glorify Me with Yourself with the glory which I had with You before the world was. I have revealed Your name to the men whom You gave to Me out of the world. They were Yours, and You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word. Now they have known that all things, whatever You have given Me, are from You. For I have given to them the Words which You gave Me, and they have received them and have known surely that I came out from You. And they have believed that You sent Me". John 17:1-8

Jesus declared and proved by his miracles and today he still declares through his followers and through his miracles "I am the Son of God, the Messiah, the Saviour of the world" What will you do with that? On judgment day you will be standing by yourself before God and the question he will ask is, "What did you do with my son Jesus, did you accept him or reject him"? There will be no excuses only one answer yes or no! Salvation is not the only reason for inviting Jesus into your life, he loves you, he has for you joy, peace, patience, and much more, he has health wholeness and a whole new life waiting for you, many say I do nothing wrong and I have not sinned, but the bible tells us these few things.

All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. 

While we were still sinners Jesus died for us to pay the price for our sin

Everybody who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved

today is the day of salvation

don't put it off till tomorrow, you don't know if tomorrow will come for you?

Jesus loves you, he wants you to give him your life and it is as simple as saying a simple prayer, you don't have to close your eyes or kneel down or anything just open your mouth and from the bottom of your heart say and mean these words.

Jesus, I believe you are the son of God, I believe you died for my sin, I turn away from my past life and ask for forgiveness of all the things I have done wrong, all the mistakes, the way I have acted and lived please forgive me and come into my life, be my lord, be my saviour help me to live the way you would have me live ask this in the name of Jesus amen.
